Groove Juice Swing: Swing Dancing in Rochester, NY

Evan Brent

Evan Brent

(He/Him)

Evan gave swing dancing a try while attending RIT, but didn't seriously begin dancing until taking classes from Groove Juice Swing in the Spring of 2014. Up until then you were much more likely to see him at a rock concert or EDM show, but he was hooked from the first time he heard live music from a swinging jazz band. The unique connection between two swing dancers through such playful music is hard to find in other genres and is what kept Evan coming back for more. He has traveled regularly to learn and grow as a dancer, including All Balboa Weekend, Beantown, Lindy Focus, CCX, Swing Out New Hampshire, and many more. He serves as the venue manager for the Rose Room, as well as helping plan events like Stompology and Slow Dance Soireé. Evan is also Groove Juice Swing's resident audio engineer and pulls from years of experience in live concert production to bring the sweet sounds of swing music to the ears of dancers. Partnering with an awesome band to create memorable experiences for the crowd is his passion.
