Joanna Kassoulides Thibault discovered the world of Lindy Hop
in 2001 in her home town of Toronto Canada. Her passion for
the dance allowed her to quickly become an influential part of the
She founded the Sugar Shakers Dance School and
Performance/Entertainment group where she taught classes in Lindy
Hop, Balboa/BalSwing, Solo Charleston and created many
choreographies in both Solo and Partnered dance.
Joanna has been in movies, TV specials, stage
performances/shows and has won and placed in competitions for
Balboa/BalSwing and Lindy Hop.
In addition to her dancing Joanna is an avid music lover
and is passionate about DJing for dancers. She has also trained
actors for choreographies in motion pictures, and designs and makes
costumes and clothing. Joanna broke the Guinness World Record for
Longest Dance Party at Cleveland's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame,
where she danced with a group for 52 hours and 3 minutes. It was a
hard-won experience that may have included some sleep-deprived
hallucinations, but was well worth it.
