Groove Juice Swing: Swing Dancing in Rochester, NY

Roaring '20s Party on September 29

 Posted Monday, August 28, 2017

Party passes will be available at the door for $20 ($16 students with ID).

We're planning something really special on September 29: The Club Hot-Cha Roaring '20s Party! This event is an experience complete with vibrant sounds, drinks, and entertainment of the Jazz Era.

The Club Hot-Cha Roaring 20s Party is a magical opportunity to travel back in time. Guests are encouraged to dress in period style and experience one of the most colorful and formative epochs in American history.

The atmosphere will be set by a premier swing dance band, Mike Davis and his New Wonders (band members are traveling from NYC). Bandleader and trumpeter Mike Davis presents a unique swinging songbook for guests' listening and dancing pleasure, specializing in the Hot Jazz of the 1920s.

Guests are encouraged to attend a free Charleston lesson at 8pm to learn the hottest dance steps of the Jazz Age. No partner nor prior experience is necessary. The night continues with the band 9pm-midnight.

Entertaining numbers will be presented by The Flower City Follies, evoking the spirit and style of the great production numbers of the legendary 1920s chorus line The Ziegfeld Follies. This fun-loving dance troupe conjures the rebellious yet exuberant spirit of Roaring '20s youth.

ButaPub will be presenting a selection of cocktails, beverages, and light fare.

Other highlights of the night include a photo booth up on our balcony!
