Groove Juice Swing: Swing Dancing in Rochester, NY

Tap Workshop with Julian Carey

JulianJulian Carey is a tap dancer from New York City. He began dancing at the age of 3 starting his classes at the Harlem School of Arts. Julian has performed at numerous theaters in the city including the Apollo Theater in Harlem. He continued his classes at the Third Street Music School Settlement until high school graduation. While in college, Julian founded Tap Dance Underground, which he has taken to New York City to perform as well.

We are very excited to feature Julian for the first time at Groove Juice Swing! His class will be intermediate level and will be tailored specifically to the students who attend. 

Workshop is 11:15am to 12:45pm on Saturday, May 6, 2017, held in the 63 Room of The Historic German House (315 Gregory St., Rochester, NY), accessible via the back parking lot.

Groove Juice Swing, established in 2004, is based in Rochester, NY and specializes in Lindy Hop, the original form of swing dance from the 1920s and 1930s. Groove Juice Swing offers dance classes, weekly social dances, live band dance events, performances, and dance workshops throughout the year. Staff members and instructors are passionate about all things Lindy Hop, traveling all over the world to compete against and learn from the very best Lindy Hoppers. They bring that same commitment and enthusiasm to the dance community in Rochester.
